Virtual Zoom Meeting • Welcome and Call to Order – Jake McIntire, Chair • Approval of November Minutes • Motion to approve – Camille Washington • 2nd motion – Scott Patria • Ogden City Art and Culture Master Plan Audit Summary – Jake McIntire, Chair • Reviewed Committee’s audit assessment and progress within the Arts and Culture Master Plan • Results will be shared with City Council at a to-be-determined 2023 meeting. • Cultural Advocacy Day will be held on February 7, 2023 at the Utah State Capital. • Nine Rails Master Plan Audit Summary – Jake McIntire, Chair • Shared results of the Nine Rails Master Plan audit. • Results will be shared with City Council at a to-be-determined 2023 meeting. • Discussed ideas to raise visibility of the District. • New Member Candidate Applications – Interview Update and Voting – Jake McIntire, Chair • Reviewed the 7 candidates interviewed to fill 3 available Committee seats. • Recommendation to fill 2 seats and leave 1 seat open  • Discussed alternate models to engage candidates not selected to fill immediate openings. • Recommended appointment of Sam Gappmayer to OCAAC • Motion to appoint– Jan Hamer • 2nd motion – Scott Patria • All in-favor; recommendation passed. • Recommended appointment of Joel Kitamura to OCAAC • Motion to appoint– Jan Hamer • 2nd motion – Cam McLeod • All in-favor; recommendation passed. • Sub-Committees • Executive – Jake McIntire, Chair • Nine Rails Creative District – Leon Araujo • Monthly Subcommittee meetings will begin in January. • Discussed opportunities for cross-promotion of these meetings. • Literary – Jan Hamer • Designing on-going open mic events at the Happy Magpie.  Interest to move open mic events to the Dumke Arts Plaza in warmer months. • Ribbon cutting for “Love Letters to Ogden” designed by Ogden Poet Laureate Angelika Brewer will occur during the February 2023 First Friday Arts Stroll. • Discussed the integration of Brewer’s work in forthcoming OCAAC initiatives. • Public Art – Jake McIntire, Chair • Subcommittee is prioritizing its next project.  Discussed mural opportunity on the Hampton Inn building. • Arts Grants – Shane Osguthorpe • Encouraged Committee members to participate in the grants review process. • Reviewed Arts Grants application schedule.  Anticipated application opening the week of January 23. • Application questions will be released to the public in advance of the application portal opening date.  Anticipated application deadline February 17. • Discussed new online application process, workshops for applicants, and reviewer schedule. • $150,000 in funding is available to be awarded. • Encouraged Committee to communicate the Arts Grants opportunity to networks. • Public grant workshops will be made available.  Events will be recorded and posted for public review. • Committee Info: • Leon Araujo will have an art show at The Bonneville during the January 6th First Friday Arts Stroll. • Shane Osguthorpe’s band Proper Way will be playing at The Lighthouse on Friday, January 6.  • Acknowledgement of Scott Patria who will be stepping down from the Committee at the end of this month after nearly ten years of service. • Public Questions & Attendance Adjourn Time • Motion to adjourn – Shane Osguthorpe • 2nd motion – Camille Washington • 9:43 a.m. – Meeting adjourned.
