Zoom Meeting Welcome and Call to Order – Camille Washington, Chair • Approval of December Minutes • Motion to approve – Shane Osguthorpe • 2nd motion – Joel Kitamura • Utah Cultural Advocacy Day | Friday, February 2, 2024 – Lorie Buckley • Event to be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Utah State Capitol. • Provided an event overview, registration, and attendance information. • OCAAC Executive Committee is considering a letter writing campaign to ask elected officials for continued and strengthened support of the arts. • FY 2025 Arts Grants Update – Lorie Buckley • Application deadline: Friday, January 12, 2024 at 4pm MT. • Reviewed Arts Grants Subcommittee’s process and timeline. • Marshall White Center Public Art Request for Qualifications Update – Lorie Buckley and Jake McIntire • Application deadline: January 31, 2024 • Provided an overview of the Public Art Subcommittee’s process and timeline. • Discussed number of applications received to date. • New Mayor Discussion – Camille Washington, Chair • An invitation will be extended to Mayor Nadolski to meet with the OCAAC and discuss his vision for the arts in Ogden. • Mentioned the inclusion of the arts in the Mayor’s recently issued Blueprint for a Stronger Ogden - Our First 100 Days Together. • Strong Committee interest to ensure the arts are included in City budgeting conversations. • Arts and Culture Master Plan Review – Jake McIntire • Overviewed the initial development and intention of the Arts and Culture Master Plan. o Reviewed the initial adoption timeline. • Conducted a high-level review of the Arts and Culture Master Plan goals and strategies. o Discussed strategies where partnerships can be developed; those no longer relevant; items of concern; questions; etc. • Considered how this report and its progress can be a tool for new City administration and future budgeting purposes. • Questioned if there is a City-wide marketing strategy and how the arts are integrated into that plan (if applicable). • Proposed review schedule for Arts and Culture Master Plan sections and strategies at future monthly OCAAC meetings. • Began initial funding conversations related to the development of a second Arts and Culture Master Plan iteration. • Sub-Committees: • Executive – Camille Washington • Ogden CAN – Camille Washington o January 24th - Washington will present to Ogden CAN about the OCAAC. • Nine Rails Creative District – Leon Araujo • Literary – Jan Hamer o Happy Magpie has opened in its new location. o January 16th - Utah Humanities will host a Railtown Readings event at the Weber County Main Library with authors Lance Larsen and Bethany Schultz Hurst. o January 19th - WSU Metaphor will host an open mic night at the Happy Magpie. • Public Art – Jake McIntire • Arts Grants – Shane Osguthorpe o Reiterated the forthcoming scope of work for the Arts Grants Subcommittee. o Suggested edits to City webpages about Arts Grants deadline approaching. • Committee Member Updates • The Ogden Arts Festival has been cancelled in 2024. • Green Haus Art Co. will be closing. • Nine Rails Creative Arts District branding kit has been created by Ogden Downtown Alliance. • January 19th – Van Sessions is hosting its next Local Rock Series at the Monarch. • Public Questions & Attendance • In attendance: Linda Lartigue Adjourn Time • Motion to adjourn – Jan Hamer • 2nd motion – R.
