ROLL CALL Present: 5 - Mayor Pro Tem Nathaniel Jones, Councilmember Jessica Bateman, Councilmember Jim Cooper, Councilmember Clark Gilman and Councilmember Julie Hankins Excused: 2 - Mayor Cheryl Selby and Councilmember Jeannine Roe 2. OTHER BUSINESS 2.A 16-0126 Update on Sea Level Rise Water Resources Director Andy Haub gave an overview of past City actions related to sea level rise. Planning and Engineering Manager Eric Christensen updated Councilmembers on global and local sea level rise trends. He also reviewed impacts of sea level rise downtown and potential preventative measures the City could take to protect downtown. Mr. Christensen discussed the need to increase community engagement about sea level rise and the ongoing development of a long-term strategy to mitigate impacts of this issue. Councilmembers asked clarifying questions. Mayor Pro Tem Jones asked staff to develop a timeline for ongoing updates to City Council, Land Use and Environment Committee and Utility Advisory Committee. The work session was completed. 3.
