Councilmember Jeannine Roe
2. BUSINESS ITEM
2.A 17-0667 Consider Options for the Timing and Source of Funds for a Housing
Levy and Public Safety Levy
City Manager Steve Hall discussed the funding options for additional housing and
public safety services.
Mr. Hall reviewed the results of the recent housing and public safety survey taken by
over 600 registered Olympia voters.
Mr. Hall shared the revenue options for the home fund, along with how new taxes,
both sales and property, can be used for affordable housing under State law. He
outlined five options for funding and included pros, cons and additional
considerations.
Councilmembers asked clarifying questions.
The study session was completed.
