2.A 25-0886 Discussion of the 2026 Operating Budget
City Manager Jay Burney and Director of Finance Michael Githens presented an update
on the 2026 operating budget and strategies for budget balancing.
Councilmembers asked clarifying questions throughout the presentation and provided
input on the proposed strategies.
The study session was completed.
2.B 25-0885 Discussion of the Olympia 2045 - Climate Action and Resilience Chapter
of the Comprehensive Plan Update
Director of Climate Programs Pamela Braff, PhD and Climate Resilience Coordinator
Natalie Weiss, provided an update on the Olympia 2045 Climate Action and Resilience
chapter of the Comprehensive Plan.
The Council discussed and asked clarifying questions.
The study session was completed.

Discussion of the Olympia 2045 Comprehensive Plan Housing Chapter
Associate Planner Casey Schaufler presented the draft Housing Chapter of the Olympia
2045 Comprehensive Plan.
