Chair Villegas Bremer called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.

22-0394 Extend Promotional Police Lieutenant Register

Commissioner Soule moved, seconded by Chair Villegas Bremer, to extend
the duration of the Promotional Police Lieutenant Register to April 19, 2023.
The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 2 - Chair Villegas Bremer and Commissioner Soule
Excused: 1 - Commissioner Callner
22-0395 Approval of Lateral Police Officer Register
N. Camus explained one candidate was invited to the phase 1 suitability assessment.
They participated in the phase 1 suitability assessment and passed. The candidate was
invited to oral interviews, participated and successfully passed the oral interviews. The
candidate is white/Caucasian and female. The interview panel consisted of OPD
Sergeant Ryan Hirotaka, OPD Sergeant Shelby Parker, and Community member Mark
Tolefee.
One candidate passed the phase 1 suitability assessment and the oral interview and has
been placed on the register with a score of 78.33.
Commissioner Soule moved, seconded by Chair Villegas Bremer, to approve
the certification of the Lateral Police Officer Register effective April 19, 2022.
The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 2 - Chair Villegas Bremer and Commissioner Soule
Excused: 1 - Commissioner Callner
22-0396 Extend Promotional Fire Lieutenant Register
Commissioner Soule moved, seconded by Chair Villegas Bremer, to extend
the duration of the Promotional Fire Lieutenant Register to April 19, 2023.
The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 2 - Chair Villegas Bremer and Commissioner Soule
Excused: 1 - Commissioner Callner
22-0398 Approval of Entry Level Firefighter Paramedic Register
N. Camus explained initial eligibility lists were established with candidates who passed
the Thurston County Medic One Exam. Five Candidates participated in oral board
interviews and passed. Five candidates were male. Four were White/Caucasian and
one was two or more races. The interview panel consisted of OFD BC Matt Gantenbein,
OFD BC Russell Hermann, OFD LT Rick Leo, and Community member (former Lacey
Fire) Keri Hall.
Commissioner Soule moved, seconded by Chair Villegas Bremer, to approve
the certification of the Entry Level Firefighter Paramedic Register effective

N. Camus provided data to the Civil Service Commission comparing the register of the
2022 Entry Level Firefighter hiring process to the Register of the 2021 Entry Level
Firefighter hiring process.
