CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 9:05 a.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 3 - Chair Linda Villegas Bremer, Commissioner Reiko Callner and Commissioner Oscar Soule 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 24-0617 Approval of June 5, 2024 Civil Service Commission Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS Chief Morris announced the next Actually Olympia Podcast will feature Chiefs Morris and Allen discussing public safety. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 24-0620 Approval of Entry Level Police Officer Register Commissioner Callner moved, seconded by Commissioner Soule, to approve the certification of the Entry Level Police Officer Register effective July 18, 2024. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3 - Chair Villegas Bremer, Commissioner Callner and Commissioner Soule City of Olympia Page 1 Civil Service Commission Meeting Minutes July 18, 2024 24-0618 Approval of the Olympia Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief of Training Register Commissioner Soule moved, seconded by Commissioner Callner, to approve the certification of the Assistant Fire Chief Training Register effective July 18, 2024. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3 - Chair Villegas Bremer, Commissioner Callner and Commissioner Soule 24-0619 Approval of the Olympia Fire Department Fire Prevention Officer Register Commissioner Callner moved, seconded by Commissioner Soule, to approve the certification of the Fire Prevention Officer Register effective July 18, 2024. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3 - Chair Villegas Bremer, Commissioner Callner and Commissioner Soule 7. REPORTS Deputy Human Resources Director Nicole Camus reported Deputy Chief Parker will give an update on the Crisis Response Unit at a future meeting. 8. OTHER TOPICS - None 9.
