CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 8:41 a.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 3 - Chair Linda Villegas Bremer, Commissioner Reiko Callner and Commissioner Oscar Soule 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 24-0844 Approval of September 17, 2024 Civil Service Commission Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS Human Resources Deputy Director Nicole Camus announced the City has a new Assistant City Manager, Stacey Ray. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 24-0843 Approval of Firefighter/Paramedic Register Commissioner Callner moved, seconded by Commissioner Soule, to approve the certification of the Firefighter/Paramedic Register effective October 15, 2024. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3 - Chair Villegas Bremer, Commissioner Callner and Commissioner Soule City of Olympia Page 1 Civil Service Commission Meeting Minutes October 15, 2024 24-0845 Approval of Entry Level Police Officer Register Commissioner Callner moved, seconded by Commissioner Soule, to approve the certification of the Entry Level Police Officer Register effective September 26, 2024. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3 - Chair Villegas Bremer, Commissioner Callner and Commissioner Soule 24-0869 Fire Captain Testing Process and Job Description Updates Commissioner Soule moved, seconded by Commissioner Callner, to approve the Fire Captain testing process and updates to the Fire Captain job description. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3 - Chair Villegas Bremer, Commissioner Callner and Commissioner Soule 7. REPORTS - None 8. OTHER TOPICS Commissioner Callner asked if the Fire Department could burn materials from art installation projects for training purposes.
