CALL TO ORDER Chair Payne called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: 3 - Chair Dontae Payne, Committee member Yến Huỳnh and Committee member Cheryl Selby 3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 5.A 22-0987 Approval of September 28, 2022 Community Livability and Public Safety Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 6. COMMITTEE BUSINESS 6.A 22-0996 Interview of Candidates for the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee The Committee interviewed Don Olea and Janine Phillips for vacant positions. Committee member Selby moved, seconded by Committee member Huỳnh, to forward a recommendation to City Council to approve the following appointments to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee: Don Olea with a term ending March 31, 2024, and Janine Phillips with a term ending March 31, 2025. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3 - Chair Payne, Committee member Huỳnh and Committee member Selby 6.B 22-0976 Citywide Equity Assessment & Strategic Plan Briefing City of Olympia Page 1 Community Livability and Public Meeting Minutes October 26, 2022 Safety Committee Equity and Inclusion Coordinator Keli Drake briefed the Committee on the Equity Assessment and Strategic Plan. Committee members asked clarifying questions. The report was received. 6.C 22-0988 Street Safety Plan Briefing Senior Planner Michelle Swanson and Project Engineer Joey Jones gave an update on the Street Safety Plan. Committee members asked clarifying questions. The report was received. 6.D 22-0946 Property Crime Briefing Lt. Ryan Hirotaka gave an update on property crime data. Committee members asked clarifying questions. The report was received. 6.E 22-0986 Consideration of Amendments to the Police Auditor Contract Assistant City Manager Debbie Sullivan presented the proposed amendments to the Police Auditor Contract. Committee members asked clarifying questions. Committee member Selby moved, seconded by Committee member Huỳnh, to direct staff to amend the Police Auditor contract to increase the budget to $200,000, modify the duties to include working with the Social Justice and Equity Commission, and forward to the full Council for approval. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3 - Chair Payne, Committee member Huỳnh and Committee member Selby 7. REPORTS AND UPDATES Strategic Planning and Performance Manager Stacey Ray provided an update on Reimagining Public Safety. 8.
