The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.

5.A 22-0888 Approval of August 24, 2022 Community Livability & Public Safety
Committee Meeting Minutes
The minutes were approved.
6. COMMITTEE BUSINESS
6.A 22-0885
Approval of the Social Justice and Equity Commission Recommended
2022-2023 Work Plan
Diversity Equity and Inclusion Manager Tobi Hill-Meyer presented the recommended
2022-2023 Social Justice and Equity Commission Work Plan. Commission Co-Chairs
Genevieve Chan and Sarah Lloyd discussed the Plan and answered questions.
The Committee proposed amending the work plan to have the Commission provide
community oversight of the Police Auditor until a civilian oversight model is
recommended and approved by Council.
Committee member Selby moved, seconded by Committee member Huỳnh, to

Safety Committee
forward the amended 2022-2023 Social Justice and Equity Commission Work
Plan to the full Council with a recommendation that it be approved. The
motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 3 - Chair Payne, Committee member Huỳnh and Committee member
Selby
6.B 22-0887 Reimagining Public Safety Process Update
Strategic Planning and Performance Manager Stacey Ray presented an update on the
Reimagining Public Safety process.
Committee members asked clarifying questions.
The report was received.
6.C 22-0878 Interview and Considerations for the Community Representatives to the
Police Use of Force Event Board Vacancies
The Committee interviewed candidates Adan Espino and Sarah Nagy for appointment to
the Police Use of Force Event Board.
Committee member Selby moved, seconded by Committee member Huỳnh, to
recommend appointment of Adan Espino and Sarah Nagy, to the Police Use of
Force Event Board. The motion carried by the following vote:
