ANNOUNCEMENTS - None 4. BUSINESS ITEMS 4.A 20-0926 Downtown Design Guidelines Overview Ms. Phillips gave a briefing on the newly adopted Downtown Design Requirements, OMC 18.120. In April 2017 the City adopted the Downtown Strategy, a plan to help identify community priorities for the downtown, outline action items for the next five years, guide City budgets and work plans, build community partnerships, help market downtown Olympia, and move forward comprehensive goals for downtown. One of the first actions to implement the Downtown Strategy was to update the Downtown Design Review criteria to align with new character areas and to collect and assemble all downtown design standards in one code chapter of the municipal code. Ms. Phillips shared a PowerPoint slide presentation that included major design guideline changes for the design district and provided highlights of the code sections such as the City of Olympia Page 1 Design Review Board Meeting Minutes November 12, 2020 site planning, site elements and design, building design, historic properties, and view protection measures. Ms. Phillips responded to questions and comments from Board members about the new plan. The information was received. 5. OTHER TOPICS - None 6.
