CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 12:10 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 2 - Chair Holly Davies, and Commissioner Luke Howard Excused: 8 - Vice Chair Dwayne Harkness, Commissioner Mary Coacher, Commissioner Benjamin Helle, Commissioner Patricia McLain, Commissioner Garner Miller, Commissioner Rachel Newmann, Commissioner Mark Rentfrow, and Commissioner Nicholas Vann 2. BUSINESS ITEMS 2.A 15-0223 Robert Shipley, Capitol Theater Office Building Awning, 204 5th Ave SE, Presubmission Advice With only two Committee members present, the discussion of replacing the existing continuous awning with a discontinuous one was informal. It included the potential for adding a continuous faschia to reduce the visual impact of the irregular placement of the awning segments. Commissioners Davies and Howard indicated they did not see that the U.S. Secretary of the Interior's Standards would present a case against the discontinuous design of the awning, since the awning is not listed as a character-defining feature of the building. The discussion was deferred to the March 16 Heritage Review Committee meeting under File 15-0268. 3. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 12:50 p.m. City of Olympia Page 1
