Heritage Review Committee Meeting - Please Note New Location & Time
1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 1:10 p.m.
1.A ROLL CALL
Present: 3 - Commissioner Garner Miller, Commissioner Rachel Newmann, and
Commissioner Mark Rentfrow
Excused: 2 - Chair Holly Davies, and Commissioner Nicholas Vann
2. BUSINESS ITEMS
2.A 15-0875 HERITAGE REVIEW: 213 18th Ave SW, Conversion from Duplex to
Single-Family Residence, 15-2857
The Committee discussed the proposed alterations using the U.S. Secretary of the
Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation as the basis of their assessment. Features
discussed included:
- Retention of all windows on the north (front) elevation and some windows on the
west (side) elevation that are in working order;
- Replacing non-historic or non-functioning windows on other elevations with wood
wrapped fiberglass sliding sash windows (one over one);
- Relocation of rear door and removal of rear windows;
- Finishing the rear of the building with a gable end;
- Adding a 2' overhang on the roof; and
- Adding a front porch with details to match those found in Attachment 4 (page 9) of
the meeting packet minus the lattice work.
Commissioner Rentfrow moved, seconded by Commissioner Miller, to
recommend approval of the application with the condition that the porch
details match those in Attachment 4 of the meeting packet minus the lattice
work. The motion passed unanimously.
2.B 15-0877 HERITAGE REVIEW: 1018 Olympia Ave NE, Window Replacement,
15-3134
The Committee discussed the proposed window replacement using the U.S.
Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation as the basis of their

assessment.
Commissioner Rentfrow moved, seconded by Commissioner Miller, to
recommend approval of the application as submitted. The motion passed
unanimously.
3. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 1:55 p.m.
