CALL TO ORDER Vice-Chair Davies called the meeting to order at 6:36 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 8 - Vice Chair Holly Davies, Commissioner Benjamin Helle, Commissioner Garner Miller, Commissioner Rachel Newmann, Commissioner Gary Stedman, Commissioner Sheila Swalling, Commissioner Andrea Pareigis and Commissioner Susan Rohrer Excused: 1 - Commissioner Audrey Henley Absent: 1 - Commissioner Maurice Major 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Ms. Goddu requested Item 8 move before Item 7.C. The agenda was approved as amended. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A 20-0084 Approval of October 23, 2019 and November 20, 2019 Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS Ms. Goddu shared announcements. 6. STAFF REPORT - INFORMATIONAL ITEMS Ms. Goddu reported on upcoming events. 7. BUSINESS ITEMS 7.A 20-0068 Approval of 2020 Meeting Dates City of Olympia Page 1 Heritage Commission Meeting Minutes January 22, 2020 Commissioners discussed the proposed 2020 meeting dates and times. Vice-Chair Davies moved, seconded by Commissioner Garner, to adopt meeting dates as summarized and to change the meeting time to 6:00 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. 7.B 20-0078 Heritage Commission Officers for 2020 - Nominations, Election Commissioners discussed Chair nominations. Commissioner Rohrer moved, seconded by Commissioner Helle, to approve Holly Davies as Chair and Garner Miller as Vice-Chair. The motion passed unanimously. 7.C 20-0081 Review Draft 2020 Work Plan Commissioners discussed the draft 2020 Work Plan. The discussion was completed. 8. COMMITTEE REPORTS Heritage Review Committee: Commissioner Garner reported on special tax valuations completed and the draft brochure on Historic Windows. Survey and Designation Committee: Vice-Chair Davies and Commissioner Garner reported on the Governor Stevens district, a grant for consultant work, strategies for expanding/revising the Downtown district and the desire to address mid-century properties. Policy, Ordinance & Guidance Committee: No report. Marketing, Outreach & Events Committee: Commissioner Rohrer reported on Heritage Month events, Harbor Days involvement, the Black History month program on February 22 and the State Capitol event in August. 9.
