1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Davies called the meeting to order at 6:06 p.m.

The agenda was approved.

3.A 22-0173 Approval of January 26 2022 Heritage Commission Meeting Minutes
The minutes were approved.

6.A 22-0174 Final review of 2022 Proposed Work Plan
The Commissioners discussed the 2022 proposed Work Plan.
Commissioner Miller moved, seconded by Commissioner Pareigis, to approve

the work plan as amended in discussion. The motion passed unanimously.
6.B 22-0175 2022 Committee Assignments
Commissioners discussed 2022 Committee assignments.
Commissioner Hull moved, seconded by Commissioner Stedman, to approve
the committee assignments for 2022. The motion passed unanimously.
6.C 22-0178 Election of Officers
Commissioner Hull moved, seconded by Commissioner House, to approve
nomination of Commissioner Davies for Chair and Commissioner Miller as
Vice Chair for 2022. The motion passed unanimously.
6.D 22-0179 Maritime Washington National Heritage Area Draft Plan
Ms. Goddu encouraged Commissioners to read and comment on the draft management
plan available online at the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation website by March
4.
The discussion was completed.
6.E 22-0180 Planning for Heritage Month 2022
Ms. Goddu provided the 2022 Preservation Award Nomination Form. The discussion
included a timeline for nominations, nomination process, and assignments for follow up
on specific nomination proposals at the March meeting.

7. REPORTS - None
8. OTHER TOPICS
Ms. Goddu shared information about the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee
(PRAC) consideration of re-naming Priest Point Park to Squaxin Park, following
resolution passed by the Tribal Council that selected the new name. Ms. Goddu will draft
a statement for Chair Davies to deliver to (PRAC).
Commissioner Lumbantobing moved, seconded by Commissioner House, to
prepare a statement of support for the name change, to be delivered to PRAC
prior to or at the public hearing scheduled on March 17. The motion passed
unanimously.
