CALL TO ORDER Chair Davies called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 9 - Chair Holly Davies, Commissioner Aicha El Beloui, Commissioner Shannon Glenn, Commissioner Audrey Henley, Commissioner Kenneth House, Commissioner Andrea Pareigis, Commissioner Jessica Hull, Commissioner Gary Stedman and Commissioner Sarah Smith Excused: 3 - Vice Chair Garner Miller, Commissioner Sharon Lumbantobing and Commissioner Gary Stedman 1.B OTHERS PRESENT Olympia Historic Preservation Officer Holly Borth Property Owner Kassie Koledin 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - None 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS - None 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 6.A 23-0235 Olympia Heritage Register Nomination for the Sandberg House at 208 Percival St NW Ms. Borth provided an overview of the Olympia Heritage Register nomination for the Sandberg House at 208 Percival St NW. Commissioner House moved, seconded by Commissioner Glenn, that the City of Olympia Page 1 Heritage Commission Meeting Minutes April 19, 2023 nomination for the Sandberg House at 208 Percival St NW be approved and added to the Olympia Heritage Register under criteria A, B, and E. The motion passed unanimously. 6.B 23-0342 Approval of Heritage Awards Nomination Recommendations Presentations were made by Commissioners Davies, Hull, Henley, Pareigis and Ms. Borth about seven nominations for 2023 Olympia Heritage Awards. Commissioner Glenn moved, seconded by Commissioner Henley, to approve all seven nominations to receive 2023 Olympia Heritage Awards as amended to correct the KGY nomination to nominate the building, not the business. The motion passed unanimously. 6.C 23-0344 Planning for Heritage Month 2023 The Commission discussed plans for Heritage Month 2023. The discussion was completed. 7. REPORTS Ms. Borth provided an update on the Indie Music History project, shared new project proposals for Olympia Hotel at Capitol Lake and Franklin Work Spaces. 8. OTHER TOPICS - None 9.
