CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: 7 - Chair Jim Nieland, Vice Chair Alicia Seegers Martinelli, Committee member Barbara Benson, Committee member Brock Milliern, Committee member Brian Tomlinson, Committee member Candace Jacobs and Committee member Maria Ruth Absent: 1 - Committee member Kimberly Bauer 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 17-0164 Approval of December 15, 2016 Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT Jim Rainwood encouraged PRAC to pursue donations and acquisitions along the Olympia Woodland Trail corridor that could be used to further the goals in the Park Plan. Bob Jacobs talked about the requirements outlined in the Interlocal Agreement for serving on the Olympia Metropolitan Park District (OMPD) Advisory Committee. 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS - None 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 6.A 17-0116 Park ADA Assessments Associate Director Jonathon Turlove gave a briefing on the ADA transition assessment. He explained the consultant has completed assessments on the 4 most City of Olympia Page 1 Parks and Recreation Advisory Meeting Minutes February 16, 2017 Committee popular parks. The assessment of the remaining parks will be completed later this year. The information was provided. 6.B 17-0118 Appoint two Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (PRAC) members to the Olympia Metropolitan Park District Advisory Board Mr. Turlove explained the role of the Olympia Metropolitan Park District (OMPD) Advisory Committee and distributed copies of the Interlocal Agreement. Committee member Jacobs was appointed and Committee member Benson will fill the second spot temporarily (in anticipation of a new member permanently filling the spot). The decision was approved. 6.C 17-0117 Draft PRAC Work Plan for April 1, 2017 through March 31, 2018 Parks Planning and Design Manager Laura Keehan reviewed the work plan. The committee added one item: Volunteer Program Update - Request a presentation from Sylvana Niehuser. The recommendation was forwarded to Council for approval. 7. REPORTS A. North Capitol Campus Heritage Park Development Assoc. - Committee member Jacobs reported the group is still working on design for the Eastern Butte. B. PARC Foundation of Thurston County - None C. Artesian Leadership Committee - Committee member Benson reported on the Well User Survey results that have been compiled. 8. QUESTIONS OF STAFF OR SUGGESTIONS FOR NEXT AGENDA - None 9.
