CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 6 - Chair Maria Ruth, Committee member Barbara Benson, Committee member Candace Jacobs, Committee member Rhianna Hruska, Committee member Brock Milliern and Committee member Rhonda Olnick Absent: 3 - Vice Chair Joshua Clark, Committee member Kyle Guzlas and Committee member Kim Murillo 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A 19-0041 Approval of October 18, 2018 Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT Bob Jacobs encouraged the Committee to be involved early in the planning process for upcoming projects such as the Downtown Park Analysis, the Dog Park Study and the Aquatic Feasibility Study. 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS Park projects that are currently under construction are new LED lights at Stevens Field, new Shelter #2 at Priest Point Park, and the construction of the Woodruff Sprayground and picnic shelter. A new modular pump track will be installed at the Isthmus Park in March. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS City of Olympia Page 1 Parks and Recreation Advisory Meeting Minutes January 17, 2019 Committee 6.A 19-0040 Draft PRAC 2019-2020 Work Plan and Officer Elections Parks Planning & Design Manager Laura Keehan reviewed each item of the work plan. Committee discussed and asked clarifying questions. The Committee unanimously approved Maria Ruth for Chair and Brock Milliern for Vice-Chair. 7. REPORTS North Capitol Campus Heritage Park Development Assoc. - The Eastern Washington Butte design options are complete. 8. QUESTIONS OF STAFF AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Next meeting the Committee will receive a report on the ice rink and the Woodruff Park tennis court/pickleball project. The Committee requested an update from Parks Maintenance on park improvements completed based on the 2018 annual survey effort. The Committee would also like to review/update the park survey form and add a section for committee members to list their top 3 concerns observed in the park. 9.
