CALL TO ORDER Present: 4 - Committee member Kyle Guzlas, Committee member Candace Jacobs, Committee member Brock Milliern and Committee member Kim Murillo Absent: 4 - Chair Maria Ruth, Committee member Barbara Benson, Committee member Rhianna Hruska and Committee member Rhonda Olnick 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was not approved due to lack of a quorum. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A Approval of August 15, 2019 Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes Attachments: Minutes The minutes were postponed. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS Parks Planning & Design Manager Laura Keehan announced 3 online surveys on Engage Olympia: the Yelm Highway Master Plan survey, Friendly Grove playground design poll, and LBA Woods trail improvement survey. Parks Maintenance Manager Sylvana Niehuser announced National Public Lands Day is September 28. Committee member Kim Murillo announced a work party will be held at Grass Lake Nature Park during the Climate Strike from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 6.A West Bay Park Recreation, Trail & Restoration Analysis Report Briefing Attachments: Draft West Bay Park Report (22MB) Appendices (49MB) Consultant Jim Brennan reviewed the draft report that documents the research, public input, and progress made during this most recent planning effort for West Bay. The discussion was continued to the October 17 meeting due to lack of a quorum. 6.B Oral Report on The Bridge Music Project, a Youth Education and Performance Contract Recreation Program Specialist Luke Burns and Bobby Williams, The Bridge Music Project, highlighted the summer concert series, songwriting workshop,open mic nights at Rosie’s Place and a Music Mentorship Program. The Parks, Arts and Recreation Department has partnered with The Bridge for the last 5 years. The discussion was continued to the October 17 meeting due to lack of a quorum. 6.C 2020-2025 Capital Facilities Plan and Capital Asset Management Plan (CAMP) Attachments: Web link to Prelim CFP Draft recommendation letter The item was postponed to the October 17 meeting due to lack of a quorum. 7. REPORTS - None 8. QUESTIONS OF STAFF AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS The next meeting will include park evaluation presentations, Stewardship Program update, Capital Facilities Plan recommendation, and a tour of Priest Point Park. 9.
