1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.

2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
The agenda was approved.

3.A 22-0768 Approval of June 16, 2022 Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee
Meeting Minutes
The minutes were approved.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT
Daniel Einstein from Olympia Coalition for Eco Systems spoke about their recent
acquisition that is adjacent to Cooper Crest parcel. Timing is an issue for this property.
This will be added to September's agenda as a Business Item.
5. ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. Daniel Farber and Kim Murillo were thanked for attending the Yelm Highway open
house.
2. No updates at this time on hybrid meeting options.
3. Jennifer Gessley-Gayman invited PRAC members to the annual Volunteer Picnic.

(CAMP)
Jake Lund and Tammy LeDoux presented an update on the CFP Funding. They shared
the Funding 101 slide show with a breakdown of the 2022 Operating Budget. They also
had a presentation of the 2023-2028 Preliminary Capital Facilities Plan.
The discussion was completed.
6.B 22-0772 OPARD Climate Briefing
Sylvana Niehuser and Charles Rambo gave a briefing on OPARD Climate. They
discussed how OPARD guidelines are based on the Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan
from 2020. Other topics discussed were Parks 2022 plan, city wide teams and
reforestation.
The discussion was completed.
7. REPORTS
The Metropolitan Park District Advisory Committee did not meet, so no report at this
time.
8. QUESTIONS OF STAFF AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Next PRAC meeting will be Thursday, September 15, 2022
9. ADJOURNMENT
