CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 9- Chair Darren Mills, Vice Chair Ken Adney, Boardmember Sarah Adams, Boardmember Mary Corso, Boardmember Janis Dean, Boardmember David Rauh, Boardmember Manuel Rincon, Boardmember Phil Rollins, and Boardmember Cheryl Selby Excused: 2 - Boardmember Jo Gallaugher, and Boardmember Bobbi Kerr Absent: 2- Boardmember Ruthann Goularte, and Boardmember Sydney Hann 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A 13-0873 Approval of June 13, 2013 PBIA Advisory Board Meeting Minutes Boardmember Rauh moved, seconded by Boardmember Dean, to approve the minutes. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 9- Chair Mills, Vice Chair Adney, Boardmember Adams, Boardmember Corso, Boardmember Dean, Boardmember Rauh, Boardmember Rincon, Boardmember Rollins and Boardmember Selby Excused: 2 - Boardmember Gallaugher and Boardmember Kerr 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. Ambassador Update The Ambassador Program hired Renata Rollins. The Clean Team is launching a systematic weed pulling this summer. They will take before and after photos.The Green Machine is parked (temporarily) in the police parking at City Hall. There should be a structure built for it at the Capital Recovery Center’s new location . Uniforms will be in soon. There are currently three Clean Team members and two Ambassadors. BUSINESS ITEMS 7.A 13-0876 Downtown Emphasis Patrols Officer Herbig has been mentioning the Pedestrian Interference Ordinance to people . From 7:00 a.m. to midnight people cannot sit, lie or sleep on a sidewalk or in an alleyway. Parking lots are excluded. Officer Herbig has been working with the State Patrol on Sylvester Park. There could be another walking patrol officer next year. Officer Herbig’s current hours are Tuesday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. He can be reached at (360) 259-1154. The report was received. 8. COMMITTEE REPORTS Partnerships - Chair Corso The Committee is working with a facilitator to set up a meeting with the Olympia Downtown Association. Clean & Safe - Chair Adams Mr. Wilson and Boardmember Adams found cigarette receptacles. The next steps are to identify problem areas and discuss with building owners. There will be eight more pedestrian recycle containers July 29. The Committee will host safety meetings four times a year. Marketing - Co-Chair Rollins An alphabetical list of all businesses on the website has been requested. Ms. Thorson will edit the business list to keep it updated. Holidays: $6,500 will be spent on media for Downtown for the Holidays and $3,500 will be spent on lights. 9. OTHER TOPICS The Parking Committee discussed parking tokens. Boardmember Dean would like to ask the City to give some free customer parking to reach out to customers who were frustrated by the pay stations. Boardmember Corso will ask at the next Committee meeting. New meters will be installed in late August. 10. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 7:51 p.m. The next meeting is Thursday, August 8, 2013.
