1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Corso called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m.

Present: 9 - Chair Mary Corso, Vice Chair Connie Phegley, Boardmember Ken
Adney, Boardmember Nancy Grace Campbell, Boardmember Alana
Carr, Boardmember Kim Murillo, Boardmember David Rauh,
Boardmember Jeffrey Trinin, and Boardmember Sunday Williams
Excused: 6 - Boardmember Sarah Adams, Boardmember Janis Dean,
Boardmember Sheila Irish, Boardmember Jeannine Kempees,
Boardmember Bobbi Kerr, and Boardmember Phil Rollins
2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
The agenda was amended to include:
-Selection of interview panel member
-Selection of Downtown Strategy Team member
The agenda was approved as amended.
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
15-0969 Approval of August 13, 2015 PBIA Board Meeting Minutes
The minutes were approved.
15-0970 Approval of September 10, 2015 PBIA Board Meeting Minutes
The minutes were approved.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT
A representative of the Arts Commission presented a project to honor musical artists
who have come from Olympia. The project would include the selection of three
locations around downtown to place sidewalk mosaics and have live performances at
intervals over the year. The project has the opportunity to help local artists, improve
the atmosphere of downtown, and repair sidewalks in the process.

5. ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Downtown Ambassadors have created a month-to-month breakdown of visits
from 2014 and are requesting funding to put towards increasing service areas as well
as reaching seven days a week of service. This may include an additional staff
member.
6. BUSINESS ITEMS
15-0972 2016 Parking & Business Improvement Area (PBIA) Operating Budget
Process
Discussion included:
-Need for an administrative assistant to serve the PBIA and its committees.
-The Clean and Safe Committee prioritizes bathrooms, walking patrol, the Downtown
Ambassadors, and the Welcome Center.
-The Marketing Committee prioritizes holiday events, advertising, and visitor
information.
The budget was discussed and closed.
7. REPORTS
The Clean and Safe Committee report:
A bathroom letter has been written, which ODA has reviewed and approved and will
now be sent to Council.
The Marketing Committee report:
-A press release will be drafted for events occurring downtown.
-Surveymonkey will be used for info and pictures of the PBIA members may be helpful
to survey takers.
-The Committee wants to push for a focus on under-advertised events.
8. OTHER TOPICS
Interview panel member decision:
Chair Corso volunteered.
Downtown Strategy Team nomindation:
Committee member Phegley volunteered.
Committee member Murillo volunteered to be the alternate.
The respective positions were approved.
Those working on Halloween promotion efforts would like $500 from PBIA to hand out
halloween candy.
The donation was approved.
