1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Corso called the meeting to order at 6:12 p.m.

Chair Corso announced the Girls Night Out event will be May 12-13, 2017.
Chair Corso announced there will be an Open House briefing on the draft for the
Downtown Strategy. This will take place on Monday - February 6, 2017 from 5:00 to
6:30 at City Hall Council Chambers.
Staff Liaison Mark Rentfrow introduced two new business owners that arrived during
the meeting. Blen Davidson and Sam Garr are the new owners of Noping the Shop on
4th Avenue, Thurston County’s only skateboard shop.
Chair Corso announced there are two open positions on the PBIA Board.
6. BUSINESS ITEMS
Mr. Watson spoke about the ODA and the upcoming year's plans. They will be
reaching out to the PBIA to ensure an effective collaboration. The ODA annual
meeting will be on January 30, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. located at the Washington Center.
There was a brief discussion regarding the new restroom that will be installed at the
Artesian Commons Park within next month or two.
Officer Costello presented a staffing update and downtown activity.
7. REPORTS
Boardmember Phegley reported on the work the Clean and Safe Committee worked
on over the past year:
· Discussions regarding downtown evening police walking patrol
· Close contact with the Downtown Ambassadors
· Provided brooms and dustpans
· Working on new design for the cigarette butt containers
· Additional alley cleanings
· Music program at the Artesian Commons Park
· Meetings with the bar owners regarding positive message
· New murals were installed
· Late night bus route discussions continue with Intercity Transit
Boardmember Dean reported on the work the Marketing Committee worked on over
the past year:
· Twinklefest holiday event - winner of the contest was Spider Monkey Tattoo
· Flower baskets
· Sponsored:
· Girls Night Out
· Capitol City Pride Festival
· Nisqually Canoe Journey
· Halloween Trick or Treat event

· Cinema advertising
Boardmember Murillo reported on the PBIA website and the Ambassadors Instagram
photos which are linked to the website.
The Ambassadors provided a written 2016 report from the Ambassadors, The
Welcome Center and the Clean Team.
