CALL TO ORDER Chair Millar called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 8 - Chair Candi Millar, Vice Chair Paula Ehlers, Commissioner Tammy Adams, Commissioner Kento Azegami, Commissioner Rad Cunningham, Commissioner Yến Huýnh, Commissioner Carole Richmond and Commissioner Aaron Sauerhoff 1.B OTHERS PRESENT Community Planning & Development Staff: Senior Planner Cari Hornbein Senior Planner Joyce Phillips Director Leonard Bauer Planning and Engineering Manager Tim Smith Public Works City Engineer Fran Eide Watershed Company Vice President Dan Nickel Washington Dept. of Ecology Senior Shoreline Planner Kim Van Zwalenburg 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A 20-1010 Approval of November 16, 2020 Planning Commission Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS City of Olympia Page 1 Planning Commission Meeting Minutes December 7, 2020 Mr. Bauer and Ms. Hornbein made announcements. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 6.A 20-1005 Shoreline Master Program Periodic Review - Public Draft Briefing Ms. Phillips and Mr. Nickel gave presentations. The information was received. 6.B 20-1003 Capital Projects and Private Development Briefing Ms. Eide and Mr. Smith gave presentations. The information was received. 7. REPORTS - None 8. OTHER TOPICS The was approved. 8.A 20-1022 ADDED DURING MEETING - Officer Elections Commissioner Richmond moved, seconded by Commissioner Azegami, to re elect Candi Millar for Chair, Paula Ehlers for Vice Chair, and Rad Cunningham for Finance Subcommittee Chair. Commissioner Millar and Commissioner Huynh each received four (4) votes. Commissioner Azegami moved, seconded by Commissioner Ehlers, to nominate Yen Huynh for Chair and Aaron Sauerhoff for Vice Chair. Commissioner Ehlers and Commissioner Sauerhoff each received four (4) votes. Further action on the Chair and Vice Chair positions was deferred until the next meeting. Commissioners voted unanimously to appoint Commissioner Cunningham as Finance Subcommittee Chair. 9. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 9:07 p.m. City of Olympia Page 2

PUBLIC COMMENT During this portion of the meeting, citizens may address the Advisory Committee or Commission regarding items related to City business, including items on the Agenda. In order for the Committee or Commission to maintain impartiality and the appearance of fairness in upcoming matters and to comply with the Public Disclosure Law for political campaigns, speakers will not be permitted to make public comments before the Committee or Commission in these two areas: (1) on agenda items for which the Committee or Commission either held a Public Hearing in the last 45 days, or will hold a Public Hearing within 45 days, or (2) where the speaker promotes or opposes a candidate for public office or a ballot measure. Individual comments are limited three (3) minutes or less. REMOTE MEETING PUBLIC COMMENTS INSTRUCTIONS: During this time, the Planning Commission will hold business meetings remotely using Zoom. Live public comments will be taken during the meeting but advance registration is required. The link to register is at the top of the agenda. You will be given the choice to comment during the registration process. After you complete the registration form, you will receive a link by email to log onto or call into Zoom for use at the meeting day and time. If you plan on calling into the meeting, you will need to provide your phone number at registration so you can be recognized during the meeting. Once connected to the meeting you will be auto-muted. At the start of the public comment period, the Chair will call participants by name to speak in the order they signed up. When it is your turn to speak, your microphone will be unmuted. Once three minutes concludes your microphone will be muted again 5. STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS This agenda item is also an opportunity for Commissioners to ask staff about City or Planning Commission business .
