Co-Chair Chan called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m.

23-0645 Discuss Community Oversight of Law Enforcement
Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Stacey Ray guided a discussion to
prepare the Commissioners for their upcoming work on the Social Justice and Equity

Subcommittee. The Subcommittee will work on developing a recommendation on police
oversight. Commissioners working on the Subcommittee will learn about law
enforcement from the Olympia Police Department; communicate about the process with
the community stakeholders and develop a draft recommendation for the Social Justice
and Equity Commission.
The discussion was completed.
7. REPORTS
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Manager Tobi Hill-Meyer reported that the
Community Discrimination Assessment is officially closed after receiving over 2,000
verified survey responses. Consultants Truclusion received requests from community
members to participate in interviews to share experiences. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Program Manager Hill-Meyer reported that Cultural Access Program Specialist Amelia
Layton has put together a proposal on how to update the Lodging Tax Award system.
