Minutes

Oroville Planning Commission Wednesday, June 17, 2015 The meeting was called to order at 4:45 by Vice-Chairman Judy Dunston. Present: Commissioners: Judy Dunston, Suzi Seger, Arnie Marchand, and Alternate Commissioner Valorie Johnston. Absent: Luiz Perez, Marc Egerton Staff present: Chris Branch and Deanna Rowton. Approval of the minutes from the June 3rd meeting. Motion by Suzi Seger, second by Arnie Marchand, motion carried. Discussion opened regarding the “Animal” ordinance. There was a question that addressed the issue of geese and what category they would fall under. There was discussion about containment, size, noise, etc. No decision was reached on whether or not they will be prohibited. Goats were discussed and decided upon that male goats will be prohibited. There was a question about why we were working on revising the current ordinance. It was stated that there had been several complaints to City Hall about roosters. When the current ordinance was read, there were many places with large issues missing. Chris handed out a new “draft” which included definitions. There will be more in-depth discussion at the next meeting and hopefully action taken addressing the animal ordinance. Chris stated he would like to know the general consensus of the Commission regarding an issue at the Triangle Trailer Park where the Housing Authority has its office. The residents behind the office would like to have the property subdivided so they can purchase property which would require a comprehensive plan amendment before the property could be rezoned. Chris has been requested to be more creative in finding a way to make it happen. There was discussion about it and Chris stated that it was information for the Commissioners to think about, that a comprehensive plan amendment to take part of this commercial property out of this designation could be forthcoming. There were a couple announcements: 1. A lease for the Pastime has been signed and the plan is for them to re-open sometime in July. 2. Rancho Grande opening should also be happening soon, possible in July. The meeting was adjourned at 5:45 pm. 1
