Oroville Planning Commission Monday, March 19, 2018 The meeting was called to order at 4:45 by Chairman, Luis Perez. Commissioners Present: Luis Perez, Arnie Marchand, Suzie Seger, and Valorie Johnston Absent: none Staff present: Deanna Rowton and Christian Johnson Suzie made a motion to approve the minutes for the February 26th meeting. It was seconded by Arnie and it passed. Deanna reported that the City Council would like for this Commission to recommend which applicant be appointed to which position. Arnie moved that we recommend Sue Edick to be a Commissioner and Paul Neir to the Alternate position. Valorie seconded the motion and it passed. We watched a film documentary call “A River” about the Okanogan River, surrounding areas and related water issues. It was very informative. Christian read through and we discussed the edited text for the Accessory Dwelling Units amendment. Thoughts were that, with this being more “restrictive”, the council may be more willing to go forward with this version. Arnie made a motion that we accept this version and recommend to Council for consideration. Suzie seconded the motion and it passed. The Critical Areas Checklist was looked at. Christian pointed out that on page 7 of the checklist, regarding “Definition of Fish and Wildlife Habitat and Conservation Areas,” our municipal code (18.02.030) reads differently. Arnie mad a motion to accept the checklist and forward to council for a 60 day comment period and go forward. It was seconded by Suzie and the motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 5:50. 1
