Oroville Civil Service Monday, January 27, 2025 Meeting called to order at 4:30 pm by Chairman Joe King. Present: Commissioners Joe King and Dusti Giroux Secretary, Chief-Examiner: Emily Finsen Others present: Chief Gary Hirst Absent: Mike Sibley Approval of the December 13, 2024 regular meeting minutes. Motion by Dusti to approve the minutes, second by Joe, motion passed. Secretary Finsen presented the commission with the results of the January 10, 2025 Oral Boards. There was no passing applicants after commission certified scores. New Oral Boards were then set for Friday, March 14th, 2025. A special meeting was scheduled for Friday, March 7th, 2025 at 4:15pm to approve applications for Oral Board. Finsen shared a request from an applicant to consider conducting Oral Boards via zoom for those unable to attend in person. The Commission requests Finsen to speak with City Attorney Howe about the request and if it can be fulfilled per Civil Service Rules and Regulations. Police Chief Hirst shared that he would like to see an inquiry with other Civil Service Departments around the county as to potentially increase the number of application submissions. Next Regular Civil Service meeting scheduled to be held Monday, February 24, 2025. As there being no further business, motion by Dusti to adjourn the meeting at 5:10 pm, second by Joe; motion carried.
