Public Works Committee

PROCEEDINGS OF THE PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE The Public Works Committee of the Village of Oxford, Marquette County, Wisconsin met on Thursday, September 29, 2022 in the Council Room of the Oxford Village Hall. Chairman Bart O’Brien called the meeting to order at 5:00 PM with Committee Members Erwin Meyer, Richard Bohringer, and Ruth Holden in attendance. Also in attendance was Public Works Director Steve Mullens. Motion made by Meyer/Holden to approve the agenda as printed. Motion carried. Director Mullens informed the Committee of the proposed Public Works projects and purchases for 2023. The brick on the maintenance shop was unable to be painted this year due to the Village Hall well project and will, instead, be postponed to 2023. The estimated cost for the paint and supplies is $1,500.00. A proposal from Taft Construction for the re-siding of the Village Hall with vinyl siding and replacement windows was presented. The re-siding does need to be done soon but can be postponed for a couple more years due to budget constraints. Window replacements may be added to the 2023 Budget at the next Finance Committee meeting, if the Budget will allow for it. The windows in the Community Room will be given first priority. A breakdown of the Taft Construction proposal with itemized pricing will be requested for the Finance Committee to review for consideration. The Public Works Budget for 2023 was discussed and prepared for presentation to the Finance Committee. Motion made by Holden/Bohringer to forward the proposed Public Works Budget as recommended to the Finance Committee. Motion carried. Motion made by Meyer/Holden to adjourn at 6:25 PM.
