Palmyra Police & Fire Commission Minutes Monday July 22, 2024 Palmyra Village Hall 6:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order at 6:08pm by Chairperson Lubus. Roll call: Lubus, Stefanczyk, Bealhen, Dooley, Simmons – All Present Guests – Director Scott Pavlock, Interim Chief Gartzke Motion by Dooley – second by Lubus to approve minutes from July 8th, 2024 Roll call – Bealhen, Dooley, Lubus, Stefanczyk & Simmons all ayes, motion carried. Business: Discuss Police and Fire Department personnel issues and candidates. Motion by Simmons second by Dooley to convene into closed session at 6:15PM with staff, pursuant to §19.85(1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Specifically updates on Public Safety Department personnel matters. Roll call – Bealhen, Stefanczyk, Lubus, Simmons & Dooley all ayes, motion carried. Motion by Dooley - second by Simmons to reconvene to open session at 8:10 PM Roll call – Bealhen, Stefanczyk, Lubus, Simmons & Dooley all ayes, motion carried. Outcome of business conducted in closed session: The commission approves and advances the following candidates to the Village Board for hire. Wyatt Rydzik- Full time Firefighter Anton Temple- Part-time Firefighter/EMT Katie Hritz- Part-time Firefighter/EMT Lainey Rydzik- Part-time Firefighter/EMT Motion by Dooley - second by Simmons to Adjourn meeting at 8:15 PM Roll call - All Ayes – motion carried. AGENDA Police and Fire Commission meeting Monday July 22, 2024 100 W. Taft Street Palmyra Village Hall 6:00 p.m. Call to Order Roll Call Business Approval of Minutes: July 8, 2024 1. You are hereby notified that the Police & Fire Commission of the Village of Palmyra will meet on July 22, 2024, at the Palmyra Village Hall, 100 W. Taft Street at 6:00 p.m. At said time and place the Commission will convene into closed session. 2. After the meeting has been properly convened, the Chairperson will announce to all those present the purpose of the meeting and the fact that the Commission intends to convene in closed session for the above-delineated purposes. Upon motion duly made and seconded and acted upon by the majority of the members present as required under §19.85(1)(a), Stats., the closed session will take place. 3. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Police & Fire Commission of the Village of Palmyra may convene, upon passage of the proper motion, into Closed Session with staff, pursuant to §19.85(1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Specifically, to review fire chief hiring procedures and review of fire and police applicants. Then interview candidate applicants for the Fire/EMS Chief position and police applicants. 4. The Commission will then reconvene into Open Session for purposes of potential additional discussion and/or action on matters discussed in closed session and adjournment.
