MEETING MINUTES Village of Palmyra RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING Monday Jan. 12, 2026 Village Clerk’s Office 100 W. Taft Street 6:00 P.M. Called to order at 6:00 pm by Chairperson Smith. Roll call: Smith, Petruska-present. Deichl- late at 6:06 pm New Business 1. Discussion/possible action on filling the Recreation Director position. Chairperson Smith spoke with Eagle if their PT Director would be interested in FT and do both communities Rec. Dept. but they do not. Smith called the superintendent at the school, but he was out of the office to see if there was anything on the school board agenda about this and spoke with the assistant and she didn’t think it was on the agenda. Trustee Petruska spoke to the Montessori school, and they don’t have money to pay for someone to take over. Smith thinks there should be a discussion with Scott Halbrucker about duties at the park, so everyone is on the same page. Smith will amend the job description to say “maintain beach staff”, coordinate with DPW staff to ensure fields are maintained and weeds are controlled, fields dragged, etc., and office hours. Also, a mention that they must maintain Facebook, Once the job description is done it can go on the next board agenda. Smith will do a job posting and send it Laurie and post on several sites. Discussion/possible action on filling the Recreation Director position. Adjournment This is the agenda for the 1/12/26 Recreation Committee meeting as of Jan. 8, 2025 and is subject to modification prior to said meeting pursuant to the Wisconsin Open Meetings Law. Members of the Village Board may attend the above- noticed meeting in order to gather information about a subject over which they have decision- making responsibilities. The only action to be taken at the above-mentioned meeting will be action by the Recreation Committee. Please be advised that agenda items may be taken in an order other that which appears here. It is possible that members of, and possibly a quorum of, other governmental bodies of the Village may be in attendance at the above stated meeting to gather information. No action will be taken by any governmental body at the above stated meeting other than the governmental body specifically referred to in the above notice.
