MEETING MINUTES Village of Palmyra SPECIAL VILLAGE BOARD MEETING Thursday August 7, 2025 Village Hall 100 W. Taft Street 6:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Village President Tim Gorsegner. The reason the meeting was called so late was because the Fire and Police Commission met first in closed session. Then invited the Village Board in. Roll call: Gorsegner, Petruska, Smith, Tucker, Wallace- present. Ball-absent. New Business A. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Village Board of the Village of Palmyra may convene into closed session pursuant to State Statute 19.85(1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Specifically, the Public Safety Director and Police Chief’s position. Wallace/Smith motion to go into closed session at 7:05 pm. Roll call vote: Petruska, Gorsegner, Smith, Tucker, Wallace-aye-motion carried. B. Petruska/Smith motion to convene into open session at 8:00 pm pursuant to §19.85(2), Stats., for possible additional discussion and action concerning any matter discussed. Roll call vote: Gorsegner, Petruska, Smith, Tucker, Wallace-Aye. Motion carried. No action taken Tucker/Smith motion to adjourn at 8:02 pm. All ayes-motion carried. AGENDA Combined Police and Fire Commission AND Village Board meeting Thursday August 7, 2025 100 W. Taft St. Palmyra Village Hall meeting room 6:00 p.m. Call to Order Roll Call Business 1. Approval of meeting minutes from July 24, 2025 2. You are hereby notified that the Police & Fire Commission and Village Board of the Village of Palmyra will meet on August 7, 2025, at the Palmyra Village Hall meeting room, 100 W. Taft St. at 6:00 p.m. At said time and place the Commission will convene into closed session. 3. After the meeting has been properly convened, the Chairperson and Village President will announce to all those present the purpose of the meeting and the fact that the Commission and Village Board intend to convene in closed session for the above-delineated purposes. Upon motion duly made and seconded and acted upon by the majority of the members present as required under §19.85(1)(a), Stats., the closed session will take place. 4. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Police & Fire Commission and the Village Board of the Village of Palmyra may convene, upon passage of the proper motion, into Closed Session with staff, pursuant to §19.85(1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Specifically, the Police Chief’s position. 5. The Commission and Village Board will then reconvene into Open Session for purposes of potential additional discussion and/or action on matters discussed in closed session and adjournment.
