CALL TO ORDER/TERRITORIAL LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Chairperson Birnie called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
On behalf of the Committee, Chairperson Birnie offered the following Treaty 6
lands acknowledgement:
We acknowledge the homeland of the many diverse first nations and metis
people whose ancestors have walked this land since time immemorial. We are
grateful to work, live and learn on the traditional territory of Treaty 6.

2024 Governance and Priorities Committee meeting minutes be adopted, as
presented.
The motion carried unanimously.

Committee Chairperson Birnie asked the gallery if there were any comments
or questions that the public wished to bring to the attention of Parkland
County.
Janet Patriquin, Farmers Advocate of Alberta, came forward to speak on
behalf of Parkland County resident Burton Brooks regarding bridge
construction affecting land access.

Proposed Motions
1. That the Committee receive the Agricultural Service Board update for
information, as presented.
2. That the Committee direct administration to bring the updated terms of
reference for the Agricultural Service Board to the June 11, 2024 Council
meeting for approval, as presented.
Krista Quesnel and Susan Schafers presented the Agricultural Service Board
(ASB) update and revised Agricultural Services Board terms of reference.
A motion was made by Committee Member Kobasiuk that the Committee
receive the Agricultural Service Board update for information, as presented.

reference to Council at the June 11, 2024 Council meeting, as presented. The
motion carried unanimously.

1. That the Committee receive the Economic Diversification Committee
update for information, as presented.
2. That the Committee direct administration to bring the updated terms of
reference for the Economic Diversification Committee to the June 11, 2024

Robynn Holstein and Kate Polkovsky presented the Economic Diversification
Committee (EDC) update and revised Economic Diversification Committee
terms of reference.
A motion was made by Committee Member Kowalski that the Committee
receive the Economic Diversification Committee update for information, as
presented. The motion carried unanimously.

Committee (CSC) update and revised Community Sustainability Committee
terms of reference.
A motion was made by Committee Member Kucher-Johnson that the
Committee receive the Community Sustainability Committee update for
information, as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

Chairperson Birnie recessed the meeting at 10:37 a.m., and reconvened the

Municipal Government Act to meet in private to discuss matters protected
