City of Petersburg Planning Commission Meeting December 1, 2022 Minutes The City of Petersburg Planning Commission meeting held on Thursday, December 1, 2022, was called to order by the Chair, Ms. Tammy Alexander, at 6:35 p.m. A roll call was completed by Ms. Michelle Murrills. Members Present: Ms. Tammy Alexander, Chair Mr. Fenton Bland, Vice Chair Ms. Marie Vargo Mr. Thomas Harriston Ms. Chioma Adaku Members Absent: Dr. William Irvin Dr. James Norman Ms. Candy Taylor Mr. Michael Edwards A Quorum was established by the Chair. Others Present: Mr. Reginald Tabor, Ms. Michelle Murrills, Ms. Sandra Robinson Adoption of the Agenda: Chair Alexander called for any changes, and hearing none, Chair Alexander requested a motion to approve the Agenda. Commissioner Bland moved for the approval of the agenda; Commissioner Vargo seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 1 Minutes: The Minutes from the November 3, 2022 were not available and moved to the next meeting agenda. Public Information Period: Chair Alexander opened the Public Information Period to anyone who wished to speak on an item not on the agenda. No one chose to speak, and so the Chair closed the public information period. 6. Public Hearings: There were no Public Hearings. 7. OLD BUSINESS Comprehensive plan update: Mr. Tabor did the presentation, and discussed the website, survey, workshops, focus group meetings and drafting sessions. Commissioner Hairston requested that the survey link and flyer be emailed to the Commissioners. Mr. Tabor agreed to email the information as requested. Mr. Tabor requested a vote to approve the dates for the Drafting Sessions. Chair Alexander entertained a motion to approve the dates. A motion was made by Vice Chair Bland to approve the dates. Commissioner Vargo seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 8. NEW BUSINESS Chair Alexander asked if there was any new business or announcements. Mr. Tabor stated that amendments to the Zoning Ordinance Text would be forthcoming, including an amendment to the B-2 District Section, and the Definitions Section regarding Nightclubs. 2 With no other business, Commissioner Irvin moved to end the meeting at 7:30 p.m. 3
