SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PIEDMONT CITY COUNCIL
GEORGE FINA MUNICIPAL BUILDING - 314 EDMOND ROAD NORTHWEST
Tuesday September 14, 2021 at 9:00 AM
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Kurt Mayabb, Mayor Pro Tem Kevan Blasdel, Councilman
Ron Cardwell, Councilman Jonathan Hisey, and Councilman
Austin Redus
ABSENT: Councilman Melissa Ashford
STAFF PRESENT: City Clerk Jennifer Smith and City Attorney Michael Segler
1. CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Kurt Mayabb called the meeting to order at 9:00am
2. ROLL CALL - City Clerk Jennifer Smith and a quorum was present
3. BUSINESS ITEMS –
a.) Discussion, consideration, and possible action directing staff to proceed with road repairs,
upgrade and other work as necessary on Mustang Rd. between 178-192nd.
Mayor Pro Tem Kevan Blasdel made a motion to direct staff to proceed with road work on mustang road from
178- 192 including tearing up the existing road and laying asphalt with the purchase amount up to $200,000.
Motion was seconded by councilman Jonathan Hisey.

AYE: Mayor Pro Tem Kevan Blasdel, Councilman
Ron Cardwell, Councilman Jonathan Hisey, and Councilman
Austin Redus
NAY: None
b.) Discussion, consideration, and possible action directing staff to proceed with road repairs,
upgrade and work as necessary on 220th between Piedmont Rd. and Mustang Rd.
Mayor Kurt Mayabb made a motion to approve road work with amount of $200,000. Motion was seconded by
Councilman Ron Cardwell
Vote Was:
AYE: Mayor Pro Tem Kevan Blasdel, Councilman
Ron Cardwell, Councilman Jonathan Hisey, and Councilman
Austin Redus
NAY: None
c.) Discussion, consideration, and possible action of the City Attorney’s recommendation concerning
a lawful and appropriate severance agreement with Jason Orr.
Councilman Jonathan Hisey made a motion to pay out severance in one payment with half of the education
amount. Motion was seconded by Councilman Ron Cardwell.

NAY: None
4. ADJOURN – Mayor Kurt Mayabb adjourn the meeting at 9:29am
