SPECIAL MEETING CITY OF PIEDMONT – PARK & RECREATION BOARD George Fina Municipal Building 314 Edmond Road NW Wednesday, September 29th, 2021 6:00 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Charo Green (present at 6:38pm), Alexa McNeil (present at 6:11 pm), Jan Swenson, Barbra Walker, and Gary Henchman MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: City Secretary Arielle Garcia and Community Development Director Scott Garnand Jan Swenson was nominated for designated meeting leader. 1) CALL TO ORDER – Jan Swenson called the meeting to order at 6:05 pm 2) ROLL CALL – City Secretary Arielle Garcia called roll and a quorum was present 3) BUSINESS ITEMS – a) Discussion consideration and possible action on future events. Mayor Kurt Mayabb addressed the board We need to put up signs for designated parking for the circus. We need to put up the barricade and signs by 11am Saturday the 2nd of October. Over flow parking can go to the storage until parking lot. Alexa McNeil addressed the board I will make the signs to put up for the parking for the circus. Gary Hirschman addressed the board I would like to do another Bites and Beats Event. Alexa McNeil addressed the board Bites and Beats is an easy event, it doesn’t cost much and is quick to plan. I think we should do it November 6th. Gary Hirschman addressed the board I would like to get a cost on porta potties for the car show. We can block off 1st street one block south and Jackson from 1st street to piedmont road. We could have about 3 food trucks there. People attending the event can park on the north side of the Baptist church.
