CITY OF PIEDMONT – MEETING OF THE PARK & RECREATION BOARD George Fina Municipal Building 314 Edmond Road NW Wednesday October 19th, 2022 6:00 P.M. MEMBERS PRESENT: Jason Barry, Barbara Walker, and Billy Saunders MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Josh Williams 1) CALL TO ORDER – Designated meeting leader Jason Barry called the meeting to order at 6:03 pm. 2) ROLL CALL- City Manager Josh Williams took role. 3) CONSENT AGENDA- All items on the consent agenda are non-controversial and may be approved by one motion. a.) Approval of Minutes September 14th, 2022. Barbara Walker motioned to approve the minutes the November 17th, 2021 meeting. Billy Saunders seconded that motion. VOTE WAS: AYE: Barbara Walker, Jason Barry, and Billy Saunders NAY: NONE 4) BUSINESS ITEMS – A. Discussion and possible action to identify other parks and rec. properties. Tabled item. B. Solutions on Park Safety, Health and Security items. Tabled item. Things that were talked about were internet/ cameras, balance beam, frayed seatbelts, hornets’ nests, limbs hanging, and ventilation for storage room. C. Discussion and possible action on new potential board members. No action took place. Tabled for next meeting. D. Discussion and possible action on the budget review. Discussion took place to purchase wrapping paper for the Piedmont Fire Department and PAVA. No action. E. Discussion and possible action on the city attorney’s thoughts on park and adult supervision. What constitutes as ‘adult’ supervision? This was tabled for next meeting. F. Discussion and possible action on getting access to water park funds being held by F&M bank. Jason Barry to contact Phil. Tabled for next meeting. G. Discussion and possible action on Easter community event. Prizes, portable restrooms, ponies, easter egg replacement, candy and inflatables were all discussed. April 8th 2023 is the event date. H. Discussion and possible action on Friends of the Park online sign-up. Tabled item  I. Discussion and possible action on finding donors for Girl Scout Troop 285 for the approved recycling project at the community park. Gathering wishlists from the troop. Tabled for next meeting. 5) NEW BUSINESS – “New business,” as used herein, shall mean any matter not known about or which could not have been reasonably foreseen prior to the time of posting. (25 O.S. 311a(9)) A. Flag pole at the park with the Boy scouts. 6) BOARD MEMBER’S COMMENTS – No comments. 7) ADJOURN – Jason Barry motioned to adjourn the meeting.
