CITY OF PIEDMONT – MEETING OF THE PARK & RECREATION BOARD George Fina Municipal Building 314 Edmond Road NW Wednesday April 19th, 2023 6:00 P.M. MEMBERS PRESENT: Jason Barry, Barbara Walker, and Billy Saunders MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: City Secretary Morgan Clark 1) CALL TO ORDER – Designated meeting leader Jason Barry called the meeting to order at 6:04 pm. 2) ROLL CALL- City Secretary Morgan Clark took role and there was a quorum present. 3) CONSENT AGENDA- All items on the consent agenda are non-controversial and may be approved by one motion. a) Approval of Minutes for February 15th, 2023. Billy Saunders made a motion to approve Item A. Barbara Walker seconded this motion. VOTE WAS: AYE: Barbara Walker, Jason Barry, and Billy Saunders NAY: NONE  4) BUSINESS ITEMS - a) Discussion and possible action on new potential board members. The board is waiting for new mayoral input. This item was tabled. b) Discussion and possible action on park maintenance. There are 3 light poles out at the Piedmont Community Park. The handicapped seatbelts are still frayed and need to be replaced. c) Update on Girl Scout Troop 285 project. This project was vandalized and the board needs some input on how to go about fixing it. NO ACTION 5) NEW BUSINESS – “New business,” as used herein, shall mean any matter not known about or which could not have Barbara Walker made a motion to hold a special meeting on May 24th, 2023 at 6:00PM. Billy Saunders seconded this motion. VOTE WAS: AYE: Barbara Walker, Jason Barry, and Billy Saunders NAY: NONE  Barbara Walker made a motion to hire a plumber to blow the lines before the opening of the park on Friday, May 26th, 2023. Billy Saunders seconded this motion. VOTE WAS: AYE: Barbara Walker, Jason Barry, and Billy Saunders NAY: NONE 6) BOARD MEMBER’S COMMENTS – 7) ADJOURN – Jason Barry adjourned the meeting at 6:57pm.
