Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee

MINUTES OF THE MANAGER’S YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE, HELD NOVEMBER 10TH, 2016 AT 6:50 IN THE TOWN COUNCIL CHAMBERS. Bailee Babbitt called the meeting to order at 6:55 Present: Caroline Goode, Deborah James, Sydney Crain, Natalie Campbell, Danny West, Bailee Babbitt, Josiah Goode, Keith Johnson, and Matthew Williams Item#1: Welcome and Attendance: All members present except Keala Bratsch and Skyla Rigg. Item #2: Approval of Octoberr 20TH Minutes: Bailee Babbitt Motioned to approve Caroline Goode Seconded Approval was unanimous Item #3:Trunk or Treat: Trunk or Treat was a success. We received numerous positive comments from townspeople on the event. We discussed methods to improve the events including announcing the times for the costume contest in order to make the event smoother in the future. MYAC discussed selling concessions along the line into the event and setting up contests along the line as well. Thank you everyone for volunteering! Item #4: Christmas Plans: MYAC discussed plans for the Christmas Tree Lighting. Volunteers from MYAC will wear elf costumes borrowed from Cellular One and hand out candy bags in Santa’s tent. VOlunteers will also be handing out tickets for the canned food drive raffle. The event will take place across from the library and will run from 6:00 to 8:00. Item #4: MYAC Attendance at Town Council Meeting: MYAC will be attending the November 17th council meeting to attend the swearing in of new officials as well as recognition of old officials. The new Mayor and Vice Mayor will also be appointed at this meeting. MYAC will be recognized after a break in the agenda. Next meeting will be on December 16th.
