MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR’S YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE HELD ON THURSDAY, MAY 17, 2017 IN THE TOWN MUNICIPAL BUILDING LOCATED AT 958 S. WOODLAND RD., LAKESIDE, AZ 85929 A. Call to Order: Vice-Chairman Nate Campbell called the meeting to order At 6:52 a.m. Pledge of Allegiance: Nate Campbell led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Josiah Goode Member Ela Rapaz Member Rebekah James Secretary Skyla Rigg Member Landon Rigg Member Joseph West Member Nate Campbell Vice-Chairman Olivia Everingham Member Deborah James Member Daniel West Treasurer Also present: Malaina Spillman Recreation Coordinator Stephanie Irwin Mayor Keith Johnson Town Clerk B. Minutes: Member Goode moved to approve the following minutes: Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting March 8, 2018 The motion was seconded by Member Joe West and was carried with an 8-0 voice vote. C. Old Business: C.1 Discussion regarding May Town Council Presentation Vice- Chairman Campbell as well as other members said that the MYAC presentation for the town council went well. But next year, we should take more pictures at the events we attend.  C.2 Review and Discussion on Movies in the Park Concessions Committee discussed selling candy, popcorn, bottled water, and soda pop. Mayor Irwin said that there were leftover soda and water from a previous town event that the committee could sell. Committee decided to be there at 7:30 pm on May 19, 2018. D. New Business: D.1 Discussion on Attendance at the 2018 League Annual Conference Center on August 21-24, 2108. Commitment by May 31st. Recreation Coordinator Malaina Spillman informed committee of the conference and members confirmed that they would check with their sports teams to make sure. Committee decided to leave at 1:00 pm on the August 23, 2018. D.2 Recognition of Outgoing MYAC Members and Swearing In by Mayor Irwin of FY2018-2019 Newly Appointed MYAC Members. Mayor Irwin recognized the three seniors and congratulated them. After that, she individually swore in each newly appointed member. She informed seniors that they would be specially recognized at the next town council meeting. D.3 Discussion, Vote and Legal Action Regarding Election of FY2018-2019 MYAC Officers. Committee voted on officers for the FY2018-2019 MYAC Year. For the position of Chairperson: Member West nominated Nate Campbell Member Goode seconded the motion. There was a unanimous vote and with no other nominations, Nate Campbell was announced Chairperson of the 2018-2019 MYAC year. For the position of Vice-Chairperson: Member Goode nominated Joseph West Member Rigg seconded the motion. There was a unanimous vote and with no other nominations, Joseph West was announced Vice-Chairperson of the 2018-2019 MYAC year. For the position of Secretary: Member Goode nominated Rebekah James Member Campbell seconded the motion.  There was a unanimous vote and with no other nominations, Rebekah James was announced Secretary of the 2018-2019 MYAC year. For the position of Treasurer: Member West nominated Josiah Goode Member Campbell seconded the motion. There was a unanimous vote and with no other nominations, Josiah Goode was announced Treasurer of the 2018-2019 MYAC year. For the position of Historian: Member James nominated Ela Rapaz Member West seconded the motion. There was a unanimous vote and with no other nominations, Ela Rapaz was announced Historian of the 2018-2019 MYAC year. E. Public Comments: Vice-Chairman Nate Campbell called for public comments. No comments were offered. F.
