MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR’S YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE HELD ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2021 IN THE PINETOP-LAKESIDE TOWN HALL LOCATED 325 W. WHITE MOUNTAIN BLVD., LAKESIDE, AZ 85929 A. Call to Order: Vice Chairwoman James called the meeting to order at 7:03 a.m. Pledge of Allegiance: Vice Chairwoman James led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Quinton Lawler Member Anneliese Goode Member Landon Rigg Member Rebekah James Vice Chairwoman Shayla Grzelak Member Parker Rigg Member Also present: Malaina Spillman Assistant to Public Works Director Keith Johnson Town Manager Stephanie Irwin Mayor B. Minutes: B.1 Member Rigg moved to approve the following minutes: Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting December 10, 2020 The motion was seconded by Member Lawler and was carried with a 4-0 voice vote. C. Old Business: C.1 Information and Discussion on QPR Training. Mrs. Spillman reminded the committee that this is a free training that all members could participate in. She will email the link to the training to all members again. D. New Business D.1 Interview, Discussion and Legal Action, Recommend to Town Council the Appointments of FY 2020-2021 Members to the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee The committee interviewed Brindy Blake for new committee appointments. Member Goode moved to approve Brindy Blake for new appointment to the committee. The motion was seconded by Member L. Rigg and carried with a 6-0 voice vote. D.2 Discussion, Election and Legal Action of MYAC Officers for Fiscal Year 20- 21. Mrs. Spillman reviewed the MYAC Officer positions with the committee. Nominations were accepted for Chairperson; the only nominee was Member James. Member L. Rigg moved to elect Member James as Chairperson. The motion was seconded by Member Lawler and carried with a 7-0 voice vote. Member Lawler and Member L. Rigg were nominated for Vice Chairperson. A ballot vote was counted, Member L. Rigg received 5 of 7 votes. Member Goode moved to elect Member L. Rigg as Vice Chairperson. The motion was seconded by Member Blake and carried with a 7-0 voice vote. Member Grzelak was nominated as Secretary. Member James moved to elect Member Grzelak as Secretary. The motion was seconded by Member L. Rigg and the motion carried with a 7-0 voice vote. Members Blake and Lawler were nominated for Treasurer. A ballot vote was counted, Member Lawler received 6 of 7 votes. Member L. Rigg moved to elect Member Lawler as Treasurer. The motion was seconded by Member Blake and carried with a 7-0 voice vote. Member Goode was nominated for Historian. Member Grzelak moved to elect Member Goode as Historian. The motion was seconded by Member L. Rigg and carried with a 7-0 voice vote. D.3 Discussion regarding Comfort Kits and assembly for Blue Ridge School. Mrs. Spillman review the comfort kit information again that Mrs. Montoya gave the committee. We have received several donations a coloring books, letters, stuffed animals, and blankets. Mrs. Spillman will bring bags and other items to the March meeting for the committee to assemble and give to Mrs. Montoya at Blue Ridge High School. E. Public Comments: Vice-Chair James called for public comments. Keith Johnson updated the committee on the upcoming events and asked if the committee was interested in assisting with the Easter Egg Hunt to let Malaina Spillman know. Vice- Chair James asked it other students could assist and if they would get community service hours. Malaina Spillman, Mayor Irwin and Keith Johnson all agreed that volunteers would get community service hours. F.
