PUBLIC NOTICE TOWN OF PINETOP-LAKESIDE MAYOR’S YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETS THURSDAY, AUGUST 19TH, 2021 – 7:00 A.M. TOWN HALL – 325 W. WHITE MOUNTAIN BLVD, LAKESIDE, AZ 85929 AGENDA A. Call to Order: Chairman Landon Rigg called the meeting to order at 7:03 a.m. ➢ Pledge of Allegiance; Chairman Landon Rigg led the Pledge of Allegiance. ➢ Roll Call; Present Members: Landon Rigg Chairman Quinton Lawler Vice Chairman Shayla Grzelak Secretary Grace Smithson Treasurer Parker Rigg River Rigg Also Present: Stephanie Irwin Mayor Keith Johnson Town Manager Malaina Spillman Assistant To Public Works Director B. Consent Agenda: B.1 Minutes of MYAC meeting held on May 13th, 2021. Member Lawler moved to approve the following minutes. The motion was seconded by Member Parker Rigg, and was carried with a 6-0 voice vote. C. Old Business: Currently, none. D. New Business: D.1 Discussion, Election, and Legal Action for New MYAC Officers for FY 2021-2022. Voting takes place among MYAC Members, and new officers are elected for the 2021-2022 year. Landon being Chairman, Quinton being Vice Chairman, Shayla being Secretary, Grace being Treasurer, and Anna being Historian. Chairman Landon Rigg moved to approve the newly elected officers. Member Lawler seconded that, and was carried with a 6-0 voice vote. D.2 Discussion and Legal Action Regarding Attendance at League of Arizona Cities and Towns Conference, August 31st to September 1st. A great opportunity for MYAC Members to capture new ideas. Members need to get registered as soon as possible. Malaina goes over a simple agenda of the trip. Chairman Landon Rigg takes legal action and gets a current head count for the trip. Chairman Landon Rigg moved to  approve the going of the trip. Member Lawler seconded that, and was carried with a 6-0 voice vote. D.3 Review and Discussion of Project for League Conference. MYAC Members think of ideas for the League Conference project. Members decide if a project committee needs to be made. MYAC Members decide on making a poster for the League Conference. Extra pins from the balloon festival will be passed out by MYAC Members. D.4 Discussion and Legal Action Regarding Serving Lunch at Pinetop-Lakeside Senior Center. Chairman Landon Rigg takes legal action for the next serving at the Senior Center on September 9th. Member Lawler moved to approve serving lunch at the Senior Center. Member Grzelak seconded that, and was carried with a 6-0 voice vote. The seniors enjoy the company of the MYAC Members. D.5 Review, Discussion, and Legal Action Regarding FY 2021-2022 MYAC Meeting Schedule. The meeting on November 11th is changed to November 4th due to more planning time for the Pinetop-Lakeside Tree Lighting. Member Lawler moved to approve the following date change from November 11th to November 4th. Member Parker Rigg seconded that, and was carried with a 6-0 voice vote. D.6 Review, Discussion, and Legal Action Regarding Upcoming Events. Depending on the weather, there will be a movie in the park on Saturday, held by the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside. MYAC Members need to bring poster supplies to the movie to start working on the League Conference project. On September 11th there will be a Vietnam Memorial event. MYAC Members plan to have their next meeting at Jack Barker Park at 7:00 a.m. Before the meeting, MYAC Members will put up flags for each deceased life from the war on the Jack Barker Park grass. The memorial event will continue over the next couple days. A semi-truck will drive through town with a replica of the Vietnam War wall. MYAC members are encouraged to volunteer for the procession. The fall festival parade will be on September 25th. MYAC plans to get Blue Ridge High School and Student Council Members to make floats for the parade. This year’s parade theme is “Living the Dream”. Malania could use us as volunteers to help with parade tasks. E. Public Comments: Chairman Landon Rigg calls for any comments. E.1 It has been required of members to pack their MYAC polo for the League Conference. E.2 It has been required of members to wear their MYAC polo for the “Movie in the Park”, at Mountain Meadows. F. Adjournment: There being no further business at this time, the meeting was adjourned at 8:04 a.m. by Chairman Landon Rigg.
