PUBLIC NOTICE TOWN OF PINETOP-LAKESIDE MAYOR’S YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETS THURSDAY, MAY 12, 2022 – 7:00 A.M. TOWN HALL – 325 W. WHITE MOUNTAIN BLVD, LAKESIDE, AZ 85929 A. Call to Order: Secretary Shayla Grzelak called the meeting to order at 7:09 a.m.. Pledge of Allegiance: Secretary Shayla Grzelak led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: Members present: Shayla Grzelak Secretary Grace Smithson Treasurer Morgan Eddy Member (Late) Parker Rigg Member River Rigg Member Also present: Stephanie Irwin Mayor Keith Johnson Town Manager Malaina Spillman Assistant to the Public Works Director B. Consent Agenda: B.1 Minutes of the MYAC meeting held on May 12, 2022. Member River Rigg moved to approve the following minutes. The motion was seconded by Member Parker Rigg, and was carried with a 4-0 voice vote. C. Old Business: C.1 Discussion Regarding Arizona League of Cities & Towns Annual Conference. The next upcoming League of Cities & Towns Annual Conference will be held on August 31st. Malaina will be providing new members with more information at the next MYAC meeting. C.2 Discussion Regarding Upcoming Events: Chili Cookoff & White Mountain Balloon Festival. Flyers were provided to members from the previous MYAC meeting regarding upcoming events. On June 24th, the town will be hosting the White Mountain Balloon Festival. There will be beautiful hot air balloons, a concert, and food trucks. MYAC members are more than welcome to volunteer. For more information, visit wmbfaz.com. The town will continue with movies in the park this summer. The first movie, Encanto, will stream on June 18th at Mountain Meadows. The other dates for movies in the park are July 16th and August 20th. D. New Business: D.1 Interview, Discussion, and Legal Action Regarding New MYAC Members. On May 12th, the following are being considered for the MYAC council: Hadley Bierer, Rain Dimaliwat, Josiah Grzelak, Sienna Grzelak, Brooke Horne, and Jesse Stroup. Proper interviews, discussions, and legal actions took place. Member River Rigg moved to approve Rain Dimaliwhat as a new MYAC member for FY22-23, Secretary Shayla Grzelak second that, and was carried with a 5-0 voice vote. Member River Rigg moved to approve Josiah Grzelak as a new MYAC member for FY22-23, Member Parker Rigg second that, and was carried with a 5-0 voice vote. Member Grace Smithson moved to approve Sienna Grzelak as a new MYAC member for FY22-23, Member Parker Rigg second that, and was carried with a 5-0 voice vote. Member Morgan Eddy moved to approve Brooke Horne as a new MYAC member for FY22-23, River Rigg second that, and was carried with a 5-0 voice vote. Member Grace Smithson moved to approve Jesse Stroup as a new MYAC member for FY22-23, Secretary Shayla Grzelak second that, and was carried with a 5-0 voice vote. Member River Rigg moved to approve Hadley Bierer as a new MYAC member for FY22-23. However, this motion failed because it had no second. Congratulations to our new MYAC members. We are so excited to have you. E. Public Comments: Stephanie Irwin, Keith Johnson, and Malaina Spillman would like to thank the seniors for being part of the MYAC, and congratulate them on their graduation. F.
