April 30, 2020 – 3:00 p.m.
Special Called Meeting
The Pinson City Council met in a special called session in Council Chambers at 4410 Main
Street on Thursday, April 30, 2020. Mayor Sanders led the invocation. Councilor Tanner led the
Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.
Mayor Sanders appointed Anjelea May, Acting City Clerk.
Roll Call: Anjelea May, Acting City Clerk, called roll of Pinson City Council with the following
council members present:
Mayor Sanders
Councilor Tanner
Councilor Galamore
Councilor Roberts
Councilor Churchwell
Councilor McCain
Councilor Churchwell offered an ordinance to adopt regulations for small cell technology
facilities in the City of Pinson. Councilor Tanner duly seconded the motion. Mayor Sanders
called for any discussion. After some discussion, Mayor Sanders called for unanimous consent
to consider.
Mayor Sanders-yes; Councilor Tanner-yes; Councilor Galamore- yes; Councilor Roberts-yes;
Councilor Churchwell; Councilor McCain-yes.
Mayor Sanders, unanimous consent passes.
Mayor Sanders called for a roll call vote on the main ordinance with the following results:
Mayor Sanders-yes; Councilor Tanner-yes; Councilor Galamore- yes; Councilor Roberts-yes;
Councilor Churchwell; Councilor McCain-yes.
Mayor Sanders, ordinance passes unanimously as, Ordinance 2020-11.
Councilor McCain offered a resolution authorizing the Mayor to renew a grant cooperation
agreement with Jefferson County. Councilor Galamore duly seconded the motion. Mayor
Sanders called for any discussion. After some discussion, Mayor Sanders called for a roll call
vote on the main resolution with the following results:
Mayor Sanders-yes; Councilor Tanner-yes; Councilor Galamore-yes; Councilor Roberts-yes;
Councilor Churchwell-yes; Councilor McCain-yes.
Mayor Sanders, resolution passes unanimously as, Resolution 20-15.
Mayor Sanders mention the Farmer’s Market will open tomorrow at the Rock School Center
from 2-6 p.m. and to remember social distancing will still apply. Mayor Sanders stated the
Library Directors of the Jefferson County Library Cooperative will be meeting tomorrow to
discuss starting curbside pickup. Mayor Sanders stated he will do another Public Service
Announcement the beginning of next week regarding the library.
Councilor Churchwell moved to adjourn. Councilor McCain duly seconded the motion. Mayor
Sanders called for all opposed to say “no”, all in favor say “aye”. Motion carried.
