Recreation and Parks Commission Meeting

CITY OF PLACERVILLE RECREATION & PARKS COMMISSION February 17, 2021 MINUTES PRESENT: Recreation & Parks Commission: Jerry Barton, Kristin Becker, Andrew Mathews. Recreation & Parks Staff: Terry Zeller and Matt Lishman. ABSENT: Recreation and Parks Commissioner, Peter Nolan and High School Representative Tiffany Brewster. GUESTS: ADOPTION OF AGENDA: Mrs. Becker made a motion to adopt the agenda. Mr. Mathews seconded the motion. Motion approved unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mrs. Becker made a motion to approve the minutes of October 7, 2020. Mr. Barton seconded the motion. Motion approved unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT: None ACTION ITEMS: County Funding Request for Aquatics 2021/2022: Mr. Lishman shared with the Commission that staff recommends taking a resolution to the City Council to ask the County for $20,000.00 to assist with maintenance of the Placerville Aquatic Center. Mr. Lishman shared that in the past, the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors has been sympathetic to the fact that over 75% of the people who utilize the City’s Aquatics Center reside outside the City limits. This was already approved as a five year resolution but the county stated it must be requested each year with a resolution. Mr. Lishman shared that this would be year 5 of the 5 year resolutions. Mrs. Becker made a motion to take recommendation to the City Council. Mr. Mathews 2nd the motion. Motion approved unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 6:08 pm
