CITY OF POCATELLO, IDAHO SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING FIRE UNION QUARTERLY UPDATE FEBRUARY 16, 2017 -ROLL CALL The Special City Council meeting was called to order at 5:04 p.m. by Mayor Brian Blad. Council members present were Heidi Adamson, Roger Bray, Jim Johnston, Gary Moore and Michael L. Orr. Council member Steve Brown was excused. Mayor Blad announced that the meeting was called to receive a quarterly update of activities from Pocatello Fire Union representatives. Ryan O’Hearn, Andy Moldenhauer and Scott Lockhart, Fire Union representatives, gave a brief overview of the Union’s activities. Mr. O’Hearn thanked the Council for meeting with them and shared that Union members are looking forward to working through labor issues as they arise. General discussion regarding changes to vacation hours and Kelly Days followed. It was mentioned that open discussions between Union members and the Council to review matters throughout the year are encouraged. It was noted that the recent purchase of breathing apparatus equipment has been working well for staff and should serve the department for another 10 years. Council members shared they are hearing good things about the Fire Department from citizens. They encouraged Union members to continue working with Human Resources staff regarding payroll concerns. PARADICE CONFERENCE ROOM CITY HALL Notice is hereby given that the City Council will have a Special City Council Meeting Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the Paradice Conference Room at City Hall, 911 North 7th Avenue. The purpose of the session is to meet with Fire Union members for a quarterly update of activities. City Hall is accessible to persons with disabilities.
