CITY OF POCATELLO, IDAHO CITY COUNCIL STUDY SESSION CLARIFICATION WORKING LUNCH JULY 20, 2017 Council President Steve Brown called the City Council Study Session Clarification Working Lunch to order at 1:00 p.m. Council members present were Heidi Adamson, Jim Johnston, Gary Moore and Michael L. Orr. Mayor Brian Blad and Council member Roger Bray were excused. Also in attendance was Ruth Whitworth, City Clerk. Melanie Gygli, Planning and Development Services Director joined the meeting at 1:42 p.m. Discussion centered on items from the July 13, 2017 Study Session; general economic development topics and the proposed Siphon interchange project. No motions or decisions were made. A proposed meeting format designating time limits to allow all elected officials an opportunity to speak when participating in a Joint Cities/County meeting were discussed. It was noted that the date and location of the next Joint Cities/County meeting was not known at this time. General discussion regarding the Jefferson/Alameda intersection project was shared. Ms. Gygli joined the meeting at this time and answered questions regarding neighborhood standards and economic development in the city. Sign design practices in the City’s historic areas were also discussed. Parking concerns in the historic downtown area and various challenges for patrons trying to park in the area were shared. Ms. Gygli left the meeting at 2:42 p.m. Council mentioned they would like to submit two agenda items for the next Joint Cities/County meeting. They are: Non-emergency Transport of patients by Pocatello Fire Department staff and City codes related to fireworks sales in Chubbuck and Pocatello.
