PUBLIC HEARING: 2019-2020 Tentative Budget APPROVAL OF MINUTES: March 12, 2019 & March 26, 2019 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: TREASURER’S REPORT: AUDIT & PAYMENT OF CLAIMS: Abstract #17 (2018-2019) 1. Abstract of Unaudited vouchers for the General Fund for $10,704.61 2. Abstract of Unaudited vouchers for the Water Fund for $19125.30 3. Abstract of Unaudited vouchers for the Sewer Fund for $552.13 COMMUNICATIONS: TRUSTEE-COMMISSIONER REPORTS: Administration/Code Enforcement/Community Association – James DeGennaro, Trustee Planning Board – Parks/Public Works – Charles Harding, Trustee Public Safety – Michael Cashman, Trustee Water/Sewer – Robert Aagre, Trustee 1. Plans were finalized to speed-up remote water meter installation, with an additional 78 meters ordered from the manufacturer. When these have been installed, the Village will be at the halfway point, all paid from Water Department Operations & Maintenance (O & M) funds. The remaining half of the meters will be purchased from Sewer O & M funds on an expedited schedule over a few years. Having as few water and sewer line breaks as possible makes a huge difference, since funds budgeted but not spent for repairs can then be used to purchase additional meters. 2. The Village was able to purchase a needed new fire hydrant for about $2,750 which was well BELOW the State bid price. (In the past, a single hydrant would cost us about $4,600.) The savings were achieved by joining with the Town of Fenton, which also purchased 1 hydrant, and getting the benefits of a better price when buying 2. I want to thank Joel and Josh in the DPW-Water Dept. for their input and cost-saving. 3. The Village Tree Board has 18-20 trees to plant this Spring. Most will go into the Park, replacing trees that need to be removed. 4. A reminder that Hydrant Flushing will take place in the Village, starting Monday, May 13th and last for 2 or 3 days. The Town of Fenton flushes their Hillcrest system the previous week and there is a small chance of some water discoloration during this period.
