BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY Regular Meeting December 14, 2021 10:30 AM Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Lynch at 10:30 A.M. Members Present: Mayor Lynch, Steve Sonaty, and Scott Williams. Also, present was Clerk-Treasurer Nina Rivas and Attorney Dan Whitten. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING: Member Sonaty made a motion to table the minutes from November 23, 2021; Mayor Lynch seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays OLD BUSINESS: NEW BUSINESS: Maintenance Bond – Dunewood Trails Member Williams made a motion to approve the Maintenance Bond for Dunewood Trails; Member Sonaty seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays Porter County Animal Shelter Contract Member Sonaty made a motion to approve the contract through July 31, 2026 with an annual payment of $38,900.00; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays Addendum to Inter-local Governmental Agreement with PTS Member Williams made a motion to approve the quote; Member Sonaty seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays Abonmarche Engineering Contract Member Williams made a motion to approve the contract with Abonmarche for 2022; Member Sonaty seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays Pulse Furniture Quote (City Hall Renovation Project – Phase I) Member Williams made a motion to approve the furniture quote with Pulse; Member Sonaty seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays BULK ITEM APPEALS: CLAIMS Member Williams made a motion to approve the claims in the amount of $844,174.43; Member Sonaty seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays Member Sonaty made a motion to approve the payroll claims in the amount of $4,214,243.15; Member Williams seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays MAJOR ILLNESS: Member Sonaty made a motion to approve ten (10) MI Claims in the amount; Member Williams seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays OTHER BUSINESS: Attorney Whitten addressed the Board regarding the outstanding grievance dated December 29th and December 30th. Member Williams made a motion to waive the timeliness of the grievance filed and approve the overtime pay; Member Sonaty seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Member Sonaty requested that in future negotiations the contract language be changed. Member Williams made a motion to adopt the proclamation; Member Williams seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board.
