BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY Regular Meeting February 22, 2022 10:30 AM Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Lynch at 10:30A.M. Mayor Lynch swore in new member Stephanie Young-Johnson. Members Present: Mayor Lynch, Joetta Collins, Jamie Lewis, Scott Williams, and Stephanie Young-Johnson. Also, present was Clerk-Treasurer Nina Rivas and Attorney Dan Whitten. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING: Member Lewis made a motion to approve the February 8, 2022, minutes; Member Young-Johnson seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 5 yes – 0 nays OLD BUSINESS: None. NEW BUSINESS: Special Event Request – Emily Carpenter (VOICE – bringing awareness to dangers of tobacco) 4/1/22 Member Williams made a motion to approve the special event; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 5 yes – 0 nays Special Event Request – Daniel Rueckert (Running Event) 7/11/22 Member Williams made a motion to table the special event request; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 5 yes – 0 nays Permission to Advertise for the 2022 Crack Sealing Project Member Lewis made a motion to approve the advertisement of the 2022 Crack Sealing Project; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 5 yes – 0 nays Sidewalk and Curb Waiver Request - The Woodlands Subdivision Member Williams made a motion to table the Sidewalk and Curb Waiver request; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 5 yes – 0 nays BULK ITEM APPEALS: None. CLAIMS Member Lewis asked about Retrievex and whether it has been determined where the city’s physical documents are stored. Attorney Whitten stated after the last meeting he contacted Proven IT and asked them to look into it. Member Lewis made a motion to approve the claims in the amount of $185,712.58; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 5 yes – 0 nays MAJOR ILLNESS: Member Collins made a motion to approve six (6) MI Claims; Member Williams seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 5 yes – 0 nays OTHER BUSINESS: Ted Uzelac addressed the Board as a citizen of the third district. He requested the Board not approve the sidewalk and curb waiver request and require the developer to be a good neighbor. ADJOURNMENT Mayor Lynch entertained a motion to adjourn. Member Lewis made a motion to adjourn, Member Williams seconded the motion.
